Summary

Nursery Room Leader – Up to £32,000



Our client’s setting has been designed to feel calm, organised, and genuinely child-focused. The nursery combines well-equipped indoor rooms with daily outdoor access, embedding the EYFS into practical, play-led learning.



As Room Leader, you will take responsibility for leading your room, ensuring high standards of care and education while supporting and guiding your team.



Before You Apply



  • This role requires a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).

  • You must have recent experience working in a nursery setting, ideally with room leadership or senior practitioner responsibilities.

What You’ll Need



  • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 desirable)

  • Strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework

  • Recent experience within an early years setting

  • Experience supporting, mentoring, or leading colleagues

  • Confidence managing ratios, safeguarding, and compliance standards

  • Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities


Desirable



  • Paediatric First Aid certification



What You’ll Do



  • Lead the day-to-day running of your designated room

  • Plan and oversee structured EYFS-aligned activities

  • Support, mentor, and guide practitioners within the room

  • Act as key person for a group of children, ensuring high-quality observations and assessments

  • Monitor learning records and ensure planning reflects individual development needs

  • Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance standards

  • Work closely with management to maintain consistent practice across the nursery

  • Build strong relationships with parents, communicating clearly about progress and wellbeing
