Summary
Seasonal Security Officer
Purpose of role:
The role’s principal duty is responsibility for the security of Mount Stuart House and other associated buildings, staff and visitors, working within the Security team.
Reports to:
Head of House
Salary, Hours and Length of Contract:
£13.45 per hour
40 hour working week: 5 days from 7, working every third weekend
April 1 2026 to October 18 2026
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and ensure the security of the site and collections
• Support the smooth operation of the visitor and event business
• Support the front of house team during peak periods (assistance with on the floor stewarding, lift operations)
• Monitor CCTV and fire safety systems
• Maintain the exterior of the house and courtyard areas to a high standard
• Provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional and be able to build relationships with internal and external customers
• Assist with on site production and break down of events and exhibitions
• Be a primary contact for the site’s radio communications
• Be a primary contact within the team for facility management including patrols and weekly checks
Additional Responsibilities
• Serve as an ambassador for the Trust
• Provide support and information to other departments
Skills and Experience:
o Evidence of exceptional customer service in a fast paced environment
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated with a broad range of people
o Ability to remain calm under pressure
o Ability to handle all situations with patience, tact and diplomacy
o Management of client confidentiality
o Enjoy working with the general public
o Flexible approach to working hours
o Demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude
o Ability to respond quickly to situations and prioritise appropriately
