Summary
A professional and friendly family is looking for an organised and proactive part-time, live-out nanny/housekeeper to help manage their home in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
You will be working alongside Dad, who cares for his three children—happy girls aged four, six and seven, for some of the week. The youngest and the eldest have a diagnosis of ADHD, and are doing well in mainstream school. However, a candidate with SEN experience would be advantageous. The girls are busy with school and after school activities, but enjoy music, arts and crafts and reading. In the school holidays, there will be the opportunity to organise fun outings and trips with the girls.
This position is ideal for someone who is patient, kind, caring, organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining a high standard of care within a friendly and relaxed household.
The hours of the role will be Wednesday, 10.00-19.00, Thursday, 07.00-13.00 and Friday, 10.00-19.00 (24 hours/week). There could be some ad hoc additional hours for babysitting and in the school holidays, but these would be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.
The family employs a weekly cleaner, so your main responsibilities are to include:
• School drop-off and collection for the girls (if Dad isn’t free)
• Taking the girls to after school clubs (if Dad isn’t free)
• Making sure the girls have everything they need each day (uniform, sports kit, etc)
• Keeping the girls occupied and happy after school
• Overseeing any homework
• Cooking a simple family friendly meal, batch cooking when possible
• Keeping the house tidy between cleans
• Keeping the girl’s bedrooms organised and tidy
• All family laundry, including towels and bedding
• Regular bed changing
• Keeping the kitchen tidy and organised, emptying the dishwasher, bins, etc
• Resetting the bathroom
• Keeping cupboards organised
• Organising groceries and household supplies
• Receiving deliveries
• Running errands (post office, dry cleaners, etc)
• Performing other ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the household
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience working in a family home
• Fluency in English and full rights to work in the UK
• A hardworking, proactive, and highly organised approach
• Strong communication skills
• Trustworthiness, reliability, and discretion
• Empathy and a caring nature
• Excellent, checkable references
• Their own fully insured car, with a clean driving licence (duty mileage to be paid)
