Summary
Allstaff Manufacturing Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Buyer for a well established manufacturing company based in Renfrew. They are seeking an experienced Buyer who is passionate about materials procurement and operational efficiency in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supplier management and cost optimisation. You will play a crucial role in supporting production goals by ensuring the best quality materials are secured at competitive prices, contributing directly to continued success and growth.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4pm.
ROLE:
The primary responsibilities of a Buyer include the strategic sourcing of materials and services, managing procurement processes, and optimizing cost without compromising on quality. This involves:
Developing and executing procurement strategies that align with company goals.
Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
Performing cost analyses and setting benchmarks for quality and cost.
Ensuring timely delivery of materials and services from vendors.
Conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends and new suppliers.
Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Managing inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and reduce holding costs.
Knowledge & Experience
Strong knowledge of procurement and vendor management software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft software.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
CIPS qualification is desirable.
