Summary
Let’s Cook – Camp Manager
Pay: £15.17 per hour
Hours: 8:30–4:30pm OR 9:30–5:30pm (venue dependent)
Mileage: 30p per mile after the first 35 miles per day (car share uplift available)
Location : Surrey - KT11 1TF
Activate Camps are seeking an experienced and confident Let’s Cook Camp Manager to lead our popular cookery camps for children and young people. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills and a passion for providing engaging, safe and high quality camp experiences.

Activate Camps provide children with a safe, fun and challenging environment through technical sessions, gameplay and teamwork. Participants earn team points throughout the week, showcasing BEST values—Bravery, Enthusiasm, Sportsmanship and Teamwork—culminating in the Activate Games tournament.

About Let’s Cook Camps
Let’s Cook offers junior chefs a hands on opportunity to learn essential cooking skills. Children explore flavours, prepare dishes from global cuisines and work in pairs or small groups, developing confidence and creativity in the kitchen.

The Role: Let’s Cook Camp Manager
You will be responsible for the organisation, safety, safeguarding and smooth operation of the camp each day. Working with the Cookery Teacher and wider team, you will maintain high standards, deliver a professional parent experience and ensure children have the opportunity to succeed “the Activate Way.”

Key Responsibilities
Pre Camp
• Complete Activate Camps training.
• Complete pre camp onboarding tasks on time.
• Understand the full timetable and cookery curriculum.
During Camp Delivery
• Complete ID checks for all coaches.
• Check and inventory equipment on day one.
• Present professionally in full Activate uniform.
• Lead camp setup and delegate preparation tasks.
• Lead children’s registration.
• Lead the daily Super Star of the Day ceremony.
• Oversee Extra Time Club activities.
• Ensure proper supervision during breaks and lunch.
• Lead a group of 10–15 children when required.
• Ensure coaches deliver engaging curriculum based sessions.
• Support staff development with observations and feedback.
• Lead on safeguarding, pastoral and injury concerns.
• Take full responsibility for children’s health, safety and wellbeing.
• Communicate confidently with parents.
• Deliver daily welcome talks and set camp rules.
• Act as the main point of contact for Head Office.
• Complete all documentation: registers, incident/accident forms, pre session checks, hazard spotting and daily checklists.
• Maintain a clean and safe camp environment.
• Report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Support sessions as an Assistant Cookery Teacher when required.
Post Camp
• Pack equipment safely and send photo confirmation to Head Office.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed.
• Return registers to Head Office.
• Lead a debrief with staff.
• Ensure coaches are prepared for the next day.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Good Health & Safety awareness.
• Experience leading staff.
• Passion for working with children.
• Experience as a cookery instructor/teacher or similar role.
• Confident communication with parents.
Desirable
• Teaching/coaching/leadership qualification.
• Previous holiday camp experience.
• Youth work or playscheme experience, ideally with cookery delivery.
• Strong recipe following skills.
• Further experience as a cookery instructor/teacher.
