Summary
Personnel Selection is assisting our client with the recruitment of a Technical Stores Operative. This will be a permanent position working a 38.5 hour week, Monday to Friday, with a early clock off on Friday afternoons. You must have come from a technical stores background ideally within a manufacturing environment. You will need to be computer literate and have previously or currently held forklift certification. Ideally you will also hold a drivers licence. This will be a varied role and offer the candidate variety to their day.
JOB FUNCTION:
Management of the Stores Function in line with company policies and procedures. Receiving, organizing, and dispatching goods, while maintaining inventory accuracy through stock checks and record-keeping using company MRP system. Key duties include unloading deliveries, checking stock against orders, and preparing items for delivery in line with Customer requirements. This role requires reliability, strong organizational skills, and often the ability to perform manual handling.
• Management of the Stores Area.
• Liaising with other internal departments.
• Responsible for control of stock levels Cycle Counts.
• Selecting product in stock for Kanbans etc.
• Responsible for domestic and foreign transit.
• Cutting material to production requirements.
• Booking internal and external goods in and out.
• Liaising with external delivery agents.
• Local deliveries where applicable.
• Wrapping, Labelling, Packaging, Despatch.
• Ensuring a high level of housekeeping in Stores Area.
• Goods receiving: Unloading vehicles, checking deliveries against delivery documentation, and verifying quantities and condition of items.
SKILLS REQUIRED TO APPLY:
• Previously worked in a goods in / out stores capacity.
• Hold forklift certification - refreshers offered if needed.
• Full drivers licence ideal as there will very occassionally be a local drop off of goods.
• Storng levels of numeracy and literacy.
• Strong understanding of English both verbal and writen.
• Computer literacy - Use of external shipping / despatch software.
• Computer literacy - Ideally have previously used or have knowledge of 123-Insight MRP Software including 123 mobile
• Computer literacy - Able to use inventory management software.
• Happy to use industrial cutting equipment, for example an industrial guillotine.
• Able to use measuring equipment.
• Dilligent with paperwork and documentation.
