Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Minor Illness & First Contact Care Mickleover Medical Centre, Derby 30 hours per week | Monday, Wednesday and Friday Competitive salary dependent on experience Job summary Mickleover Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our established clinical team for 30 hours per week, working Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is a clinical role focused on minor illness and first contact care within a structured total triage model. The successful candidate will work autonomously, supported by an experienced GP and multidisciplinary team.We operate a structured total triage model which supports safe workload management and appropriate allocation of patient contacts. This role does not include leadership or line management responsibilities. Main duties of the job The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will: Act as a first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated and minor illness conditions Assess, diagnose and manage acute presentations including coughs, colds, ear conditions, minor infections and skin complaints Manage first contact mental health presentations within scope Undertake HRT reviews and support elements of womens health care Prescribe safely and effectively as an Independent Prescriber (V300) Request and interpret investigations where appropriate Refer patients to secondary care or community services as required Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records using SystmOne Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activity Partcipate in flu and covid vaccination clinics The post holder will work independently within agreed protocols and in accordance with the NMC Code. Person Specification Essential Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration Advanced Practice qualification or working towards Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300) Experience in Primary Care Experience running minor illness clinics Ability to assess and manage undifferentiated presentations autonomously Strong communication and consultation skills IT competence including SystmOne Flu & Covid vaccination clinicsDesirable Experience supporting womens health including HRT Involvement in audit and service developmentProfessional Requirements Maintain professional registration and indemnity (indemnity reimbursed if you qualify in Practice) Comply with practice policies on confidentiality, safeguarding, infection control and health and safety Participate in appraisal and continuing professional development Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team If you are a confident and motivated ANP seeking a stable, well-supported primary care role with clinical autonomy and a fixed three-day working pattern, we would be delighted to hear from you.
