Summary
The successful applicant will have regular training lists cross a wide range of our specialties, the areas of interest of the post holder being mutually agreed at interview. There is the opportunity to build experience and confidence with locally supervised lists where appropriate. The post holder will take part in a 1 in 8 on-call rota, which is reliably published at a minimum of 6 weeks in advance, and uses a self-rostering system. We consider requests for the out of hours work to be in specific clinical sectors to align with the interest and experience of the individual and would facilitate this where possible. We support residents and fellows in following the portfolio pathway, and would support the postholder in this, if desired. This would include access to formal and informal teaching opportunities, and access to involvement in Quality Improvement and/or research projects. Study leave is not included as standard but may be negotiated on an individual basis. We pride ourselves on the quality of our teaching and supervision to our residents and offer the same to a locum doctor accordingly.
