Summary
The above position is available within a busy and expanding timber merchants. Based in Wigan, TimberMines retails high quality timber and associated products to customers within Wigan and the Greater Manchester and surrounding areas. The company is continually growing and is looking to employ an enthusiastic labourer/driver with workshop experience.
Hours are 8am to 5pm Weekdays and alternate Saturdays 8am to 1pm (compulsory)
The successful applicant must:
-have some experience of joinery and using a range of power tools and workshop based machinery
-place health and safety issues within the workshop high on their list of priorities
-be reliable and have good timekeeping
-be conscientious, polite and personable
-work independently and assist other members of the team who are involved in the manufacturing and transportation process
-carry out work in a tidy and methodical way
-have the ability to pay attention to detail, both cosmetic and structural
-be willing to communicate any problems regarding the efficiency of or faults with tools or machinery
-be able to accept constructive criticism and adapt working practices according to feedback regarding work
-pay attention to written instructions, i.e. cutting lists and delivery notes
-be resourceful and innovative, always looking to see how working practices can be improved to make processes more efficient
-be flexible and able to adapt to different strategies for managing workload
-be physically fit
It is essential that the applicant holds a clean driving license and can also use and operate a forklift truck and side loader.
