Summary
We are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for 37 Hours per Week, on a Term Time only basis to join our team at Vale of York Academy.

Can confidently deliver intervention sessions to small groups of children, across the four broad areas of need
As a HLTA you will have a deep commitment to championing inclusion and wellbeing across our school. You will play a critical role in modelling best practices for adapted instruction, planning and delivering high-quality, small-group learning experiences that remove barriers and ensure equity of access for every pupil.
Your expertise will be vital in nurturing a supportive classroom atmosphere within our designated SEND area of the school. This role requires proactive collaboration with the SENDCo and teaching staff to maintain an environment where all children feel safe, valued, and empowered to flourish both academically and emotionally.
This role will advance pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individual pupils or groups and whole classes where the assigned teacher is not present, e.g. PPA time or covering short term absence. Activities involve planning, preparing and delivering learning lessons as well as monitoring pupils, assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development, under the direction of the class/subject teacher. There will also be line management responsibility of other Teaching Assistants.
