Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled individual to join us as for a 12 month fixed term contract as a full time Specialist Neurological Band 6 Physiotherapist within the Milton Keynes Neurological Conditions Service.
We work in partnership with people with neurological conditions, their families and / or carers.
The team provide time-limited input, supporting people to work towards meaningful goals, facilitating independence, promoting safety and function, enhancing quality of life and empowering service users to self-manage their neurological condition.
You will need to be a confident autonomous practitioner and an effective team player, with proven experience of working within a rehabilitation setting, including neurological rehabilitation.
High level communication and interpersonal skills are required for this post.
We are a friendly, supportive team and you will be provided with regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development.
You will be working alongside experienced and specialist neurological Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech therapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants as part of a Multi-disciplinary team (MDT), also working collaboratively with The Neuro Clinical Specialist Team, and other health and social care professionals.
As of February 2026 our Neurological Conditions Service office base moved to the Open University, Kents Hill, Milton Keynes. Neuro outpatient clinics will still be undertaken at Bletchley Community Hospital site in addition to community / domiciliary visits as part of the caseload.
To provide specialist holistic and physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse and complex physical, cognitive and psychological neurological presentations in outpatient, domiciliary and community settings (including patient’s own homes, care homes, leisure facilities as required) which can be from point of early diagnosis through to end of life care.
To develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
To hold responsibility for own caseload working without direct supervision.
