Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream School

Bordesley Green, Birmingham (B9)
Full-Time / Part-Time | Permanent
Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a mainstream school setting in Bordesley Green (B9). This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and skilled professional to make a real difference in children’s learning and development.

The Role
  • Support pupils with SEN in the classroom, both one-to-one and in small groups


  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons


  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive learning behaviours


  • Monitor and report on pupils’ progress, supporting interventions where necessary


  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals


  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment


    The Ideal Candidate
    • Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant (or equivalent)


    • Proven track record of working with children with SEN in a mainstream setting


    • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and strategies to support them


    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


    • Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting all learners


    • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
