Civil Engineering & Groundworks Contractor

I am currently working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business delivering civil engineering and infrastructure schemes across residential and commercial developments.

The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for a number of live civil engineering / groundworks packages, managing projects from procurement through to final account.

Duties will include:
• Preparation and management of cost reports and CVRs
• Procurement and administration of subcontract packages
• Managing valuations and applications for payment
• Variation management and change control
• Cashflow forecasting and cost control
• Negotiation and agreement of final accounts
• Close liaison with site teams and senior management

Projects typically involve groundworks, infrastructure, drainage, roads and associated civil engineering works.

The Ideal Candidate
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Experience working within civil engineering or groundworks
• Strong understanding of subcontract management and cost control
• Confident managing multiple live projects
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work closely with operational teams

This position would suit a Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a secure, long-term role within a well-run contractor where commercial decisions are valued and progression is realistic.
In return, a competitive salary of £50,000 – £65,000 per annum is offered, along with a supportive working environment and long-term career stability.
