Do you want to work flexibly and part time, but still want to deliver services for children that are flexible, focused on need and readily available when families need them?
We are now seeking a part time Social Worker with the expertise and skills to deliver great practice in our Family Support Team. You will help families in a purposeful way and manage risk confidently, working with families on a longer term plan. You will be involved in all aspects of work, including planning and review for children receiving care and support as well as those subject of a child protection plan, or until care proceedings conclude. Work in this team is about helping people work out what matters to them and then helping them achieve their goals.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26 – 30 £37,280 - £40,777 + £5000 enhancement/ Grade 9, SCP 31 – 35 £41,771 - £46,142 + £5000 enhancement
Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9
Hours of Work: 37 hours
Main Place of Work: Docks Office, Barry

Description:
To provide a social work service to children, young people and their families / carers, in line with the relevant legislation, guidance, regulations and national standards.
To work as part of a team, to undertake all activities involved in offering longer term support to children and families.
Work with partner agencies in order to maintain and develop relationship that ensure effective and timely support to children, young people and their families / carers.

About you
Workers in the Vale of Glamorgan are able to be kind, consistent and focussed in their work with children, young people and families making a real difference to children and families when circumstances are challenging. Managers are readily available and staff wellbeing is a priority.
You will need:
To be a qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Care Wales.
Experience of statutory social work with children, young people and their families.
Knowledge of the principles of the Childrens Act 1989 and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
Experience of using the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
An ability to negotiate effectively.
A commitment to partnership working.
