(Potential opportunity for a 1-year fixed-term contract from September 2026 for the right candidate)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class in a welcoming and supportive school based in Burnage.
This is a full-time temporary position starting on 9th March 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a longer-term opportunity from September 2026 for a suitable candidate.
The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning within an Upper Key Stage 2 setting. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support, assist with planning and delivery of interventions, and ensure all pupils are supported to reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements:
• Recent and relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant within Upper KS2 (Year 5 or Year 6)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to manage classroom behaviour effectively
• Proven experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Confidence to lead learning activities and take control of the class when required
• A current Enhanced DBS certificate
• Full availability from Monday 9th March 2026 onwards
The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children’s academic and personal development. You should be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
