Summary

About the role:

The University of Lancashire wishes to recruit a Veterinary Technician to join our Technical Services team who provide support to the wide variety of laboratories at our Preston campus. The successful candidate will be primarily focussed on supporting Undergraduate and Postgraduate veterinary/laboratory activities within our state-of-the-art science laboratory and clinical facilities in our new School of Veterinary Medicine

Duties will include the set up and preparation of laboratories and providing day to day technical support and advice to staff and to students studying Veterinary Science in our clinical areas.

About you:

You will need to be practical with a keen interest in science and technology, be IT literate and have a working knowledge of veterinary equipment, supported by great customer service skills. You must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with colleagues, staff and students. A degree of manual handling may be involved e.g. lifting and carrying clinical/veterinary equipment. A flexible approach is required to weekly working patterns due to the student timetable.

An undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent experiential learning in Veterinary Science will be required for this role.
