Heating Engineer – Derby (30-Mile Radius)
Salary: £41,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heating Engineer to join a well-established national contractor delivering heating and hot water services within the social housing sector.
This role is covering the Derby area within a 30-mile radius, working on a long-term domestic social housing contract. This is a mobile position; however, all work is restricted to your designated patch, ensuring a manageable and localised workload.
Participation in an out-of-hours rota (evenings and weekends) is required as part of this role.

Overview of the Role

The Heating Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing domestic heating and hot water systems within occupied residential properties.

You will ensure systems operate safely and efficiently while delivering a high standard of customer service to residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out servicing and breakdown repairs on domestic gas heating systems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs in line with industry standards
- Complete landlord gas safety checks where required
- Provide excellent customer service when working in occupied properties
- Accurately complete all job-related documentation electronically
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Manage van stock effectively in line with company procedures
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby/call-out rota (rota frequency dependent on team structure)

Requirements

- Valid ACS Gas Qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1
- Proven experience in domestic service and breakdown environments
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Professional and customer-focused approach
- Experience within social housing (desirable but not essential)

Working Hours
Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
Plus evening and weekend call-out rota.
