Summary

Cadent Gas Ltd
Lead the planning and coordination that keeps our network running

We’re recruiting a Planning and Scheduling Support professional to join our East of England network team on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. This role will be based out of our Aylestone Road office in Leicester, with the occasional meeting held at our head office location in Ansty Business Park, Coventry.

As part of our Planning & Scheduling Support team, you’ll play a key role in how we organise and deliver work across Cadent. This isn’t just about booking appointments or managing workflow – this is about creating the structure, accuracy and coordination that ensure our operational activities are executed efficiently and safely.

Working across functions, you’ll bring clarity, organisation and strong data discipline to processes that keep our network moving. You’ll help coordinate work, support scheduling activity, maintain accurate records and ensure our plans align with operational priorities. You’ll also support colleagues through coaching, collaboration and consistent ways of working.

It’s a great opportunity to step into a visible role where you’ll support continuous improvement, help shape daily delivery, and contribute to a team that’s central to operational performance.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
This is a hands‑on role that offers variety, teamwork and the chance to influence how we plan and deliver work across the network.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships and work closely with internal teams to support collaborative, customer‑focused delivery.
- Operational Coordination – Assist with scheduling and ensure work is planned effectively across short-, medium
- and long-term horizons.
- Data & Performance Insight – Analyse data to support operational decisions and help identify performance gaps.
- Process Development – Create and maintain standard operating procedures and support the administrative tasks that underpin effective planning.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement – Ensure data accuracy, interrogate systems and contribute to improved consistency and compliance.
What You Will Bring:
You’re organised, detail‑driven and able to work confidently in a busy operational environment.
- Effective at communication, both written and verbal
- Competent with Microsoft Office and comfortable using systems like SAP and ClickSoftware
- Ability to work accurately under pressure with a customer‑focused mindset
- Good interpersonal skills, able to support and work collaboratively with colleagues
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving, planning and workload management

This secondment offers a great opportunity to develop your skills, support operational excellence and play a meaningful role in keeping our network running smoothly.

Interviews will be scheduled on an ad‑hoc basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible – we can’t wait to hear from you!

Disclaimer: While the closing date is set as mentioned, we reserve the right to close the application process earlier if necessary, depending on the unique circumstances of each role.
