Thringstone Primary SchoolPart Time | Term Time | PermanentHours: 10:50am – 3:20pm Monday - Friday - 22.5 hours.Start date: Monday 13th AprilThringstone Primary School is seeking a caring, committed and adaptable Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive staff team. Guided by our vision, Believe and Achieve Together, we are proud to be a school where relationships are strong, expectations are clear and every child is supported to succeed.This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work closely with teachers to support children’s learning, primarily providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with additional needs, alongside overseeing active lunchtime sport and play.About the RoleYou will support teaching and learning across the school, working closely with identified pupils to help them access the curriculum, develop confidence and engage positively in school life. Much of the role will involve providing consistent support for individual children or small groups, adapting approaches to meet their needs.Alongside classroom work, you will oversee active lunchtime provision, organising and supervising inclusive games and sport so that children can take part in structured, positive outdoor play.This role suits someone who is patient, calm, proactive and enjoys building strong relationships with children.We are looking for someone who:Has experience working with primary-aged children (desirable but not essential).Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or an equivalent qualification.Is confident supporting individual pupils with additional needs.Has high expectations for all children.Is calm, flexible and responsive to children’s needs.Communicates well with staff, children and families.Works positively as part of a team while also showing initiative.Has an interest in sport, games or promoting active play.Is reliable, organised and committed to supporting learning.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide consistent 1:1 or small-group support to identified pupils.Support the class teacher in delivering effective teaching and learning.Help prepare resources and classroom environments.Promote positive behaviour and engagement.Oversee and supervise inclusive sport and active play at lunchtime.Follow school policies and procedures at all times.What we offer:Term-time working that supports work-life balance.A welcoming, stable and supportive staff team.Strong leadership and clear direction.Opportunities for training and professional development.Children who are proud of their school and eager to learn.SafeguardingThringstone Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
