Working under the direction of teaching staff, the role focuses on preparing resources, maintaining specialist equipment, supporting pupils during lessons and ensuring a safe, well-organised workshop environment. The technician plays an important role in enabling effective teaching and learning through reliable technical and practical support.What We’re Looking ForExperience of providing technical or resource-based support in a relevant settingKnowledge of Design and Technology and the safe use of tools and equipmentAwareness of health and safety legislation, including COSHH and PUWERAbility to prepare, maintain and manage specialist resources and materialsGood numeracy, literacy and ICT skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young people and adultsNVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or relevant practical experienceA willingness to support the work of other departments in the schoolTerms and conditions: 20 hours per week during term time only, although there may be an opportunity for additional hours during school holidays. The distribution of the 20 hours may change from one school year to the next depending on the timetable.
