Summary
Job Title: Service Manager - Health & Social Care
Location: Arbroath - with flexibility to travel as required
Salary: £33,185 - £34,270 per annum (Full-time, 39 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent, subject to a 6-month probationary period
About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Service Manager to lead and develop a team of dedicated care staff, delivering high-quality, person-centred services to individuals with complex care needs. This hands-on role requires a strong operational focus, excellent leadership, and a commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will manage multiple services, oversee budgets, and ensure that service users receive care tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support.
Develop and implement operational frameworks, service delivery plans, and care strategies.
Oversee staff performance, including supervision, appraisals, and rota management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements (Care Inspectorate, SSSC).
Manage budgets, resources, and financial governance.
Collaborate with external agencies, health professionals, and commissioners.
Promote professional development and leadership within the team.
Support service reviews, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience managing health and social care services.
SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
SSSC registration (or willingness to register).
Strong leadership, team management, and organisational skills.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and outcome-based care approaches.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.
Desirable:
Experience supporting people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, or dementia.
Experience in budget management and service development.
Understanding of local services and multi-agency working.
ASIST or other suicide prevention training (or willingness to undertake).
