I am currently recruiting for an experienced and confident Senior Care Assistant to join a well-established, purpose-built nursing and care home in Edwinstowe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Care Assistant ready to step into a leadership role, or an existing Senior looking to join a supportive service with high standards and clear values around quality care and team wellbeing.
The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents in a welcoming and homely environment.
The Role
As Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for leading shifts and ensuring high standards of person-centred care are delivered consistently. You will support residents with daily living while also overseeing medication, documentation, and team performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the shift and supporting care team members on duty
- Administering and documenting medication rounds accurately
- Ensuring care plans and daily charts are completed to a high standard
- Promoting independence, dignity, and choice for residents
- Supporting residents' physical and emotional wellbeing
- Challenging poor practice and promoting best practice standards
- Assisting with investigations into concerns or complaints when required
- Conducting bi-monthly one-to-one supervisions with care team members
- Contributing effectively to handovers and care discussions
- This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong care delivery and confident team management skills.
Requirements
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum) or relevant professional qualification
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Care Assistant within a residential or nursing home
- Experience administering medication
- Strong understanding of person-centred care planning
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and recognising signs of abuse
- Ability to lead and support a team effectively
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Must live within 30 minutes of the service
