Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This post forms part of a team of resident doctors who manage patients under the supervision of and with the support of senior oncology specialist teams. The appointee will be based at The Christie and will provide medical input to patients admitted to the acute assessment and inpatient wards at The Christie. There will also be requirement to attend some outpatient clinics and specialist treatment units.The post holder will be required to continue their own self-development as highlighted in the GMCs Good Medical Practice framework which includes attending mandatory educational sessions organized by the clinical and educational directorates, governance meetings, partaking in risk management, portfolio management, annual appraisal. There will be opportunities to partake in quality improvement, research and leadership activities. All prospective junior oncology fellows will be appointed a clinical/educational supervisor who will support them during their work. Continuing Professional DevelopmentThe Trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development (CPD) as laid down by the GMC and surgical colleges and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities. Role planningThese role may require participation in the on call rota and this will be discussed at interview On call CommitmentsThis role will require participation in the on-call rota.
