Stoke on Trent City Council is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Housing Solutions team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our service and make a real difference in the lives of those in the city.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will carry out assessment of applicants requesting to join the housing register, providing recommendations based on housing needs of the applicant.
You will be required to work with the lettings team to assess empty homes and recommend applicants whose needs will be met within a specific home.
This will include working effectively with the council adaptations team and other occupational therapists.
You will oversee a caseload of support and advice other officers in the team and support service users to achieve their goals of independence and well-being.
You will conduct manual handling risk assessments and provide recommendations for specialist equipment and adaptations.
Also ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
