What you'll be doing;

• List, package and label hazardous waste streams at customer sites across the Southern UK region
  
• Assess drums and their contents at customer premises to determine appropriate handling and classification
  
• Collect wastes from customer sites and ensure safe transportation in 3.5t Luton vans in accordance with road transport and hazardous waste regulations
  
• Use IT systems to generate transport documents, reference safety data sheets and generate quotes when required
  
• Pump, decant and re-drum rusty or leaking containers safely
  
• Sample various waste streams, predominantly hazardous waste, for classification purposes
  
• Print and complete labels and ensure accurate completion of all documentation to meet customer expectations
  
• Assess new customer inquiries and provide technical knowledge to customers and colleagues
  
• Assist with chemist duties in the Hazardous Waste Transfer Station when needed
  
• Assist with spillage clearance if required
  
• Maintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies
  
• Provide basic mentoring to new starters when suitably experienced
  
• Foster good customer relationships and comply with all customer site rules
  

What we're looking for;

• Minimum A-Level Chemistry or a degree/HNC in Chemistry or relevant scientific qualification (essential)
  
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  
• Good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers professionally
  
• High level of literacy and numeracy for accurate documentation
  
• Knowledge of environmental legislation (desirable)
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
• Problem-solving skills with ability to find solutions independently
  
• Enthusiastic, willing to learn and adaptable
  
• Flexible with daily working hours as jobs may occasionally finish late
  
• Compliance-focused mindset with commitment to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and COSHH regulations
  
• ADR Licence, Forklift Truck Licence and First Aid qualifications desirable (training provided if not held)
  
• Mobile role - must be comfortable working at various customer sites across the Southern region
