The Role
This is a hands-on, system-focused role at the heart of our operations. You'll take ownership of production control activities within our ERP system (Javelin), ensuring accurate data, effective material planning, and smooth flow from quotation through to despatch.
We're ideally looking for someone with solid MRP and ERP experience, preferably within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment, and experience using Javelin would be a major advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Production & System Control
* Raise and manage job packs.
* Print Works Traveller Lists (WTLs).
* Create, release and close work orders in the ERP system.
* Run MRP, review planning messages and action material requirements.
* Monitor capacity and support production scheduling activities.
* Produce reports on materials, production status and performance metrics.
Data & ERP Management
* Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and product data within Javelin.
* Populate and maintain the quotation register.
* Maintain accurate inventory, WIP and stock transactions.
* Ensure system data accuracy and resolve discrepancies or errors.
* Provide day-to-day user support for Javelin across the business.
Planning & Materials
* Review material availability and coordinate with purchasing as required.
* Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production schedules.
* Support continuous improvement of planning and stock control processes.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience in a Production Control, Planning or ERP-based manufacturing role.
* Strong understanding of MRP principles and material planning.
* Experience maintaining BOMs, routings and structured product data.
* Confident in managing work orders, stock transactions and WIP control.
* Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy.
* Comfortable producing and analysing system-based reports.
Desirable
* Experience using Javelin ERP.
* Background in precision engineering, machining or subcontract manufacturing.
* Understanding of capacity planning and production scheduling.
* Experience supporting ERP users and troubleshooting system issues.
