We are looking for a Duty Manager to join our Visitor Experience team on a Fixed-Term basis. If you are excited by the vision of our theatre and care passionately about providing customers and audiences with a first-class visitor experience, we would be very keen to hear from you.
When on shift you will be responsibility for the safe operation of our building on a rotation basis, and assist in the management of the Ushers, Head Ushers, Deputy Duty Managers, Stage Door Reception, Security and Housekeeping teams. You will be the responsible person in the event of an evacuation and will be passionate about delivering, and helping others deliver, exceptional customer service. You will create a welcoming and safe environment for all internal and external customers. The successful candidate will be a calm, efficient and reassuring presence for audiences and staff.
We provide full training to ensure all our visitors have an enjoyable and safe experience during their visit to Curve. However, we expect you to have experience within a customer-focused environment.
This role is offered as a fixed-term (6 months) annualised (33 hours per week) role with a monthly rota. Successful candidates must be available evenings and weekends, as well as having good weekday daytime and Bank Holiday availability, in line with our performance and events schedule.
We want to employ passionate, hard-working and dedicated individuals. To apply, please click 'Apply Now' to submit your CV and cover letter (no more than 1 A4 page) outlining your suitability for the role and why you'd like to work at Curve.
To find out more about this role, please download the Job Description & Person Specification (JDPS) document at the bottom of this page.
If you have any questions or would like to find out more, please contact careers@curvetheatre.co.uk to arrange an informal discussion.
Closing date for applications: midnight, 17 March 2026
First stage interviews: We anticipate these will take place during week commencing 30 March 2026
We do reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
We are an inclusive organisation, from our trustees and team members to our audience and participants. We treat all job applicants equally, regardless of class, age, disability, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or any other equality characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the cultural sector.
