Summary

Firefighter - Operations

Starting salary is usually in the range of £28,368 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

About the Role
As a Firefighter at Cranfield Airport, you will carry out rescue and fire-fighting duties, responding to reported incidents at Cranfield Airport and within the wider University campus. This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property, whist also administering medical care if required.

In addition, you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions, to support ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business. These include, but are not limited to, Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties, and Operations.

About You
Cranfield Airport is focused on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, and therefore it is essential that you can demonstrate the required level of professionalism and a commitment to client care. In addition, you will need to show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills, and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely-knit team environment.

As a minimum to meet the requirements of this role, you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Firefighters, and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. Previous aviation firefighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority – CAA approved certification) would be an advantage, as would a LGV2 Licence.

Holding a Firefighter rank would be beneficial, and we encourage applications and discussions from these individuals.
