WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality work. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a meaningful role in building the bank of the future.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high‑quality software solutions that meet business needs

  • Work closely with colleagues across disciplines to capture requirements, analyse technical feasibility, and translate them into engineering solutions

  • Lead the development and implementation of complex frontend and backend applications

  • Maintain high standards of code quality, architecture, and documentation

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback to peers

  • Take ownership of debugging, root‑cause analysis, and resolution of production incidents

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, learning, and continuous improvement

What you'll need:
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar role

  • Deep understanding of modern software engineering principles with experience building highly observable, scalable, and distributed systems

  • Advanced proficiency in React, including:

    • State management using Context API and Redux

    • Microfrontend architectures

    • Component design patterns and performance optimisation

    • Testing with Jest and React Testing Library

  • Strong backend development experience with Node.js/Express, including:

    • Microservices architecture

    • Event‑driven systems

    • Pub/Sub or Kafka

    • API design and integration patterns

  • Solid system design knowledge, including:

    • Caching strategies (e.g., Redis)

    • Scalability, reliability, and performance considerations

  • Hands‑on experience with cloud‑native architecture and containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices (Scrum, Jira)

  • Thorough knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices

  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship‑building abilities

  • Awareness of emerging trends and technologies such as Generative AI, Large Language Models, and Agentic Architecture / AI Agents

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals across cloud and on‑premise environment
