About this opportunity…

Exciting opportunity for a Lead Technical Application Specialist (Workday) to join our People Platform, where you'll play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the third‑party SaaS solutions that underpin our People Platform.

As the People Platform continues to grow in scale and complexity, we require strong leadership to guide the TAS community, ensure consistent delivery standards, and evolve how we manage and optimise our application estate. The TAS Lead role exists to strengthen capability, improve cohesion across the TAS community, and drive continuous improvement in how we support critical colleague‑facing systems.

About us…

We're on an exciting journey and there couldn't be a better time to join us. The investments we're making in our people, data, and technology are leading to innovative projects, fresh possibilities, and countless new ways for our people to work, learn, and thrive.

What you'll do…

The TAS Lead provides leadership and direction for all Technical Application Specialists across the People Platform. The role ensures consistent, high‑quality technical support and operational excellence, while driving continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and ways of working. You'll also play a key role in developing TAS colleagues, building capability, and supporting career growth, as well as:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing TAS colleagues, supporting capability growth and professional development.

  • Overseeing TAS delivery across analysis, incidents, change, and technical operations, ensuring consistent standards.

  • Driving continuous improvement by enhancing TAS ways of working, tooling adoption, and process optimisation.

  • Representing the TAS function in platform‑level forums, providing technical insight and strategic direction.

  • Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues and third‑party product challenges.

  • Building strong relationships with engineering teams, Product Owners, vendors, and wider platform stakeholders.

What you'll need…

  • Deep technical understanding of TAS‑supported applications, domains, and third‑party platforms (we use Workday extensively, so specific experience in this is a pre-requisite, additionally experience of ServiceNow and or Microsoft technologies will be useful)

  • Proven leadership and coaching experience in technical teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement and embedding new ways of working.

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
