We are offering a salary of £34,000.00 plus the option of Staff Accommodation!

As Reception Manager, reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day management of the Front Office and Riverside Leisure Club, ensuring both reception teams consistently deliver professional, personalised, and high-quality service. You will lead, coach, and develop your team while driving guest satisfaction, loyalty recognition, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the daily operation of Main reception (Front Office) and Leisure Reception, ensuring smooth workflows and consistently high service standards.
  • Lead and empower reception teams to deliver excellent customer service, professional attention, and personal recognition to all guests.
  • Drive loyalty recognition for IHG One Rewards members and actively contribute to achieving and exceeding Heartbeat (Medallia) guest satisfaction targets.
  • Maintain exceptional knowledge of the hotel product and confidently promote and sell hotel offerings, including Food & Beverage outlets, Spa & Leisure facilities and meeting rooms.
  • Ensure guest requests and enquiries are actioned to the highest standard, always reflecting voco brand values.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, including planning and assigning work, setting performance and development goals, and providing regular coaching and feedback.
  • Drive strong communication channels between receptions, housekeeping, reservations, and other departments to ensure guest requirements are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Resolve complex, multi-faceted operational issues across workflows with a calm, solution-focused approach.
  • Conduct regular colleague check-ins and engagement activity, ensuring Colleague Heartbeat Action Plans are implemented.
  • Ensure all statutory and mandatory compliance training is completed within the department.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with all hotel departments and actively support a “one team” culture.

To succeed as a Reception Manager, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a Reception Team Leader or Reception Manager within a hotel environment.
  • A genuine passion for guest service excellence and team development.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience handling guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery.
  • Confidence using hotel systems; experience with Opera PMS is highly advantageous.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a hands-on, supportive approach.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, in line with hotel operations.
