ROLE DESCRIPTION

Career Adviser (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a motivated and student‑centred Careers Adviser to join our Learner Services team for a 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover). You will play a vital role in providing impartial careers information, advice and guidance to learners, supporting them to make informed decisions about their future.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience providing careers support or guidance to young people - this may be in a school/college setting, youth work, employability programmes, pastoral roles or similar.
  • Communicates confidently with 16-19 year‑olds and can build positive, professional relationships.
  • Is passionate about supporting learners to progress into further study, apprenticeships or employment.
  • Can manage a varied caseload and work well within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications & Development

  • A Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance is desirable but not essential.
  • To support your development, we will fully fund and support you to complete a Level 3 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification during the 12‑month contract.
  • This accredited qualification is yours to keep and will strengthen your future career prospects in the guidance sector.
