At Thrive Recruitment Group, we work closely with schools across the South West to place passionate professionals where they're needed most. We're currently seeking a dedicated Student Support & Engagement Mentor to work with pupils who require additional guidance to access education successfully.
This role is perfect for someone who understands that for some young people, learning starts with trust, consistency, and emotional support.
As a Student Support & Engagement Mentor, you'll work with children and young people who may be experiencing:
- Social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- SEN or SEMH needs
- Disengagement from learning or risk of exclusion
You'll play a vital role in helping pupils rebuild confidence, regulate emotions, and re-engage with school life.
- Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring support
- Encouraging focus, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
- Supporting pupils in and out of the classroom
- Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning plans
- Promoting inclusion and a positive school culture
- Supporting transitions, reintegration, and long-term development
Every day is different - but your impact will be consistent.
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN or SEMH needs
- Bring a calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Can build rapport quickly and communicate effectively
- Are confident working independently and as part of a team
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (essential for travel between schools)
- Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to obtain one)
- A supportive and friendly team who genuinely value your work
- Competitive pay, paid weekly
- Flexible local placements to suit your lifestyle
- Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles
- Access to ongoing training and CPD
If you're passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and reach their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
