Summary
To assist the Support Services Manager (Facilities) in providing an efficient Post service to the Trust supporting the day to day management and distribution of mail and parcels within the hospital.
· Daily linen preparation
· Taking uniform orders
Daily delivery and collection of linen trolleys/ cages, meal trolleys and medical gases to and from all clinical areas. This will involve the movement of medium to heavy equipment.
Respond to requests for ad-hoc jobs and record these requests for tracking and audit purposes.
Inform the Logistics Team Leaders of any day-to-day issues or risk delivering the service required and inform them of any training issues that are identified.
To participate in team meetings, training events and professional development activities as deemed appropriate.
Change clean and dirty HSDU trolleys and any HSDU boxes to/ from the clinical
Collecting, sorting and franking outgoing mail/ parcels and to leave mail in safe and secure area for Royal Mail/ Courier collection.
Sorting and distributing internal incoming mail/ parcels.
Sorting/ franking mail and parcels in line with Royal Mail standards of service.
Collecting daily Royal Mail from Facilities Reception and return to post room.
Recording every special delivery, recorded delivery and parcel in the Post Room book.
Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.

To ensure fire exits and firefighting equipment are accessible and gangways and work areas are kept clear, clean and tidy.
To ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained.
To assist in the uniform fitting and Linen Room service when requested.
To undertake training as necessary and to be able to demonstrate their competence in all tasks within the service.
