Summary


This advert is for 2 x Band 6 secondments / Fixed Term posts, to work cross at both RDH and QHB. Both Band 6 posts are full time 37.5 hours Monday - Friday within office hours.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with multiple skills and an appetite for delivering a first class nursing service, to join and help establish our new Gynaecology Triage Team for UHDB.

Working collaboratively with the Gynaecology Oncology CNS team, this role primarily supports the faster diagnostic pathway, providing a streamlined triage service of all 2 week wait referrals coming into gynaecology.

You will be responsible for triaging patients referred to Gynaecology on a suspected cancer pathway, to review initial referral, scan / blood results and arrange any further tests / appointments in a timely manner.

You will be a first point contact for patients, providing information and support, in addition to liaising with multiple teams such as GP, Consultants, MDT, Imaging Department and other Health care professionals as required.

Gynaecology nursing or triage experience is essential, You will need to be able to work autonomously, using your clinical judgement for decision making within the scope of practice for this position.

The Lead Gynaecology Triage Nurse along with the Gynaecology Oncology CNS team will provide guidance and support for the successful candidate and work closely together to implement this. You will be supported in completing a Gynaecology Triage Competency Package with in house training and an agreed supernumerary period.
