Summary

LATNEM is looking for a compassionate, organised, and resilient individual to join our team as a Referrals Coordinator. This role is designed for someone who can use their personal journey to help other mothers and birthing people navigate their mental health recovery.
About the Role
As the primary point of contact for all incoming support requests, you will manage the vital link between mothers and birthing people in need and the services that can help them. You will be responsible for managing all referrals into LATNEM, including those from the NHS, 3rd sector partners, and self-referrals via our website and social media. Crucially, you will be the first point of contact, reaching out directly to those who have been referred or who have reached out to us themselves to begin their support journey. You will also coordinate all outgoing referrals for counselling and external support.
Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term.
• Pay: £13.45 per hour (Real Living Wage)
• Hours: 6 hours per week.
• Location: Initially based at our Oldmeldrum office for training; hybrid working is available once training is complete.
• Requirements: Full training will be provided, and a PVG disclosure is required for this role.
What You’ll Do
• Initial Outreach: Actively contact individuals who have self-referred or been referred by partners, providing a warm, empathetic introduction to LATNEM’s services.
• Support Mothers and Birthing People: Work with those supported by LATNEM to make referrals for counselling and 3rd sector support services.
• Conduct Assessments: Perform needs-based assessments to understand each individual's requirements.
• Determine Eligibility: Evaluate requests against specific criteria to ensure appropriate support is provided.
• Collaborate: Work closely with LATNEM’s 3rd sector support links and contractors.
• Administration: Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets and manage the email inbox using Microsoft packages.
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you must be a mother or birthing person with lived experience of mental health challenges. You must be fully recovered and possess the emotional resilience to process complex and difficult stories from others.
Soft Skills & Attributes:
• Empathy & Listening: You must be an excellent, kind, and patient listener.
• Encouraging: A positive and supportive attitude is essential for helping mothers and birthing people feel empowered.
• Organised: You must be able to plan, organise, and prioritise a sensitive workload effectively.
• Ethical: A deep commitment to equality and a strict adherence to confidentiality are non-negotiable.
• IT Literacy: You must be proficient in Microsoft packages, specifically Excel and Outlook.
