This includes a 12% Market Supplement
North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the Finance team; This post puts you at the heart of a dynamic and high performing department which is critical in the delivery of the Council’s objectives .
Job Requirements:
• Part CIMA/CCAB qualified or AAT with significant experience of public sector finance.
• Experience in local government finance is desirable.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team as well as manage workloads within tight timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead on the Council’s statutory financial accounts, ensuring the service delivers against agreed year‑end targets and maintains robust financial management practices.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the Council’s External Auditors, coordinating information, responses, and actions to support an efficient and compliant audit process.
• Provide high‑quality financial advice, technical expertise, and innovative financial solutions to enable timely and informed decision‑making by officers and Members
• Line management of the transactional finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income management.
• Develop and improve the capability of direct reports in line with the ‘Our People’ Strategy
• Responsibility for all business as usual finance systems, including oversight of system performance, contract management, and continuous process improvement.
