The Role & Responsibilities:

Dover District Council are committed to delivering an excellent customer focused, housing management service. To help us achieve this, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, skilled and high performing individual who shares our commitment to delivering excellence across the housing sector. You will be expected to be part of a team providing and managing delivery of a comprehensive housing management service for Dover District Council tenants.

You will provide a specialist service to investigate reports of tenancy breaches, ensure tenancy breaches are actively and promptly resolved, and to be proactive in putting measures in place to minimise tenancy breaches. Enforcement action to be taken where necessary, including preparing casework for legal action and representing the Council in court.

You will manage a patch of properties, and you should have working knowledge of social housing, anti-social behaviour related legislation and best practice.

Who We Are Looking For

Experience of managing and resolving anti-social behaviour within a local authority or similar environment.
Good understanding of housing and tenancy law
Experience within a housing related or similar organisation
Knowledge of crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour legislation and issues.
Experience of planning and implementing change
Experience of taking cases to court as part of enforcing tenancy or other breaches. (desirable)
Experience of working with a range of partners, including communities, to develop new and different ways of working.
GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above (Grades 4-9 or equivalent). Degrees are welcome.
Housing Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Housing, Level 3 (Desirable)
Excellent IT skills including word, outlook, excel, teams.
Good negotiation skills

Due to the nature of the role you will have the ability to work flexibly, and will require a current full driving license effective in the UK and use of a motor vehicle for business use.

Due to the nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Standard DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.
