Summary

NEC Supervisor – Nuclear Infrastructure Projects
Location: Leiston (Hybrid)
Sector: Nuclear / Major Infrastructure
Type: Permanent

We are supporting a major nuclear infrastructure programme delivering critical projects across the UK and Europe. As part of continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced NEC Supervisor to support large-scale civil and infrastructure works within a highly regulated environment.
This role is key to ensuring contractor compliance with technical standards and the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract. You will play a vital part in maintaining quality assurance, statutory compliance, and safe delivery across complex infrastructure scopes, which may include highways, transport infrastructure, utilities, and associated enabling works.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor contractor works to ensure compliance with Works Information and NEC contract requirements.
• Issue Defect Notifications and manage the Defects Correction process in line with contractual obligations.
• Review and accept material approval requests prior to procurement and site delivery.
• Chair regular quality meetings, addressing non-conformances and contractual defects.
• Liaise with local authority inspectors and third parties where required under relevant agreements.
• Observe site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, reporting unsafe practices where identified.
• Maintain accurate daily records of inspections, tests, and site activities.
• Witness and verify testing and commissioning activities.
• Work within common project management and document control systems (e.g. CEMAR, Fieldview, SharePoint or similar).
• Coordinate with project quality teams and feed site reporting into quality management systems.
• Support effective communication between contractor site teams, the Project Manager, and stakeholders.
• Provide structured written and verbal reports covering quality, progress, H&S, environmental performance, and stakeholder matters.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement processes.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support Construction Managers in delivering ongoing quality commitments across the project lifecycle.

About You
• Proven experience operating within technically complex, highly regulated environments, ideally within highways or major infrastructure sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4).
• Experience supervising construction works under CDM 2015 Regulations.
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (or working towards) preferred.
• Valid CSCS card and relevant health & safety certifications.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and record-keeping skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of applying a graded approach to quality within regulated industries.
