Cleaning Operative

What you'll do:

  • Deliver a high-quality cleaning service across all areas as directed by your Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and welcoming environment, ensuring all areas meet the required standards of cleanliness within agreed timeframes.
  • Follow the cleaning schedule and complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks as instructed.
  • Use safety signage appropriately (e.g. wet floor signs, trip hazard warnings) to keep colleagues and visitors safe at all times.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals responsibly, following COSHH regulations and ensuring safe and economical use.
  • Wear the correct uniform, PPE, and safety footwear, maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and professional conduct.
  • Report any defective equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the Cleaning Supervisor.
  • Monitor cleaning stock levels and communicate supply requirements in a timely manner.
  • Work safely at all times, following company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Support colleagues and assist other areas once your core duties are completed.
  • Continue developing your skills and knowledge within the role through training and teamwork.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning or service-based role (preferred but not essential).
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices within a workplace environment.
  • Basic understanding of COSHH regulations and safe chemical handling.
  • The ability to work independently using your own initiative, while also contributing positively within a team.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and how to care for different surface types.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in delivering high standards.
  • A professional, positive attitude with attention to detail.
