Hours: Part‑time - Monday to Friday, mornings only
A friendly and supportive school in the BS35 area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide consistent support within a KS2 classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a structured, encouraging environment.
Role Overview
- Provide general classroom support across the KS2 year group
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver differentiated activities
- Help pupils remain focused, engaged and confident in their learning
- Assist with group tasks, interventions and daily classroom routines
- Support a positive learning atmosphere built on patience and encouragement
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience supporting pupils in KS2 is highly desirable
- Calm, adaptable and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
- Experience with phonics, reading interventions or KS2 curriculum support is beneficial
Additional training valued, including:
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Behaviour management strategies
- Trauma‑informed practice
- Communication‑based training (e.g., BSL, Makaton)
- Team Teach or de‑escalation training
