What You’ll Be Doing
As a Grounds Operative, you will:
* Carry out grass cutting using powered machinery, mechanical tools, and manual equipment
* Maintain shrub and flower beds and support soft landscaping improvements
* Repair damaged or worn grassed areas, including ground preparation, seeding, and turf laying
* Deliver garden maintenance and clearance work in line with planned schedules
* Undertake weed-spraying operations and use mechanical equipment to clear debris
* Carry out tree-related tasks including pruning and lopping where required
* Support caretaking, empty homes clearance, and garden clearances when needed
* Assist with salting and snow-clearing duties during winter
* Attend health & safety and job-related training
* Respond to emergency situations when required
What We’re Looking For
Essential experience and skills:
* Previous experience in grounds work or grounds maintenance
* Strong teamwork skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude
* Good communication skills with both colleagues and residents
* Ability to use handheld devices (smartphone) for updates and reporting
* Willingness to participate in weekend rota duties
* A proactive approach and the ability to see the bigger picture in delivering great service
* Hold a valid UK driving licence
