Summary

We're looking for a Supervisor to join our Somerset Highways team based in Wellington, Somerset. In this role you'll support the Reactive Works Manager with all elements of Highways maintenance activities on the Somerset Highways Term Service Contract.



Location: Wellington depot, Somerset - site based 5 days per week

Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role



What will you be responsible for?As a Supervisor, you'll play a key role within the Highways maintenance team, leading and supporting the workforce in delivering efficient, high-quality services across Somerset's road network.

Your day to day will include:

-Coordinating and supervising highways maintenance teams, ensuring work is completed safely and to high standards

-Daily allocation of work and resources to meet maintenance requirements and programme deadlines

-Collaborating with clients, the public, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects

-Actively promoting health and safety through site inductions, toolbox talks, and leading by example

-Supporting team development and wellbeing while fostering an inclusive workplace environment



What are we looking for?

This role of Supervisor is ideal if you:

-Hold an SSSTS qualification or higher

-Have experience of working within the highways industry with an understanding of network operations

-Have proven team leadership abilities and excellent communication skills

-Are comfortable with Microsoft applications and digital systems
