An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Whisky Sommelier to join a luxury hospitality venue in Scotland.
This role is ideal for a whisky specialist who combines deep product knowledge with refined guest engagement skills and thrives in a premium, experience-led environment.
The Role
As Whisky Sommelier, you will curate and deliver an outstanding whisky experience for guests, enhancing their stay through education, storytelling, and tailored recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Curating and managing an extensive whisky collection
-Conducting private tastings and guided whisky flights
-Pairing whisky with tasting menus and special events
-Advising guests on regional styles, maturation processes, and distillery heritage
-Maintaining supplier relationships and managing stock control
-Training front of house staff to enhance whisky knowledge
-Supporting premium retail sales where applicable
-This is a highly guest-facing role requiring confidence, presence, and exceptional communication skills.
Candidate Profile
-Strong knowledge of Scotch whisky regions, production methods, and flavour profiling
-Formal certification (e.g. WSET Level 2/3 Spirits or equivalent) preferred
-Experience delivering structured tastings and premium service
-Confident public speaker with engaging storytelling ability
-Commercial awareness with upselling capability
-Ability to relocate and live on-site
