Our client, a well-established and highly respected precision engineering company based in Alfreton, is currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join their skilled manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident machinist with programming experience who is looking to secure a long-term, stable position within a growing business.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in the production of high-precision components, working on one-off and batch work. You will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating CNC lathe machinery while maintaining high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate a XYZ Proturn SLX 425 CNC lathe

  
  

• Work with Prototrak controls

  
  

• Produce precision components from engineering drawings

  
  

• Machine a variety of materials including metals and plastics

  
  

• Monitor machine performance and maintain quality standards

  
  

• Inspect finished parts and make adjustments where required

  
  

  Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience operating CNC lathes

    
    

  • Experience with Prototrak controls (essential)

    
    

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    
    

  • Experience machining a range of materials (advantageous)

    
    

  • CNC programming capability (highly desirable)

    
    

  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus

    
    

    Salary & Benefits

    • £35,000 – £38,000 per year (negotiable depending on experience)

        Candidate Requirements

        • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

          
          

        • Fluent English (required)

          
          

        • Full UK work authorisation (required)

          
          

        • Must be able to reliably commute to Alfreton (DE55) or relocate prior to starting
