Summary
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications from individuals for the role of Temporary Payroll Assistant within the Payroll Department based at Service Headquarters, Carmarthen.
This is a 12 month temporary role offering an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of an efficient payroll service.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail‑focused and organised individual to join our busy Payroll team. You’ll support the accurate processing of all payroll transactions, maintain up‑to‑date records, and ensure compliance with PAYE, National Insurance and pension regulations. You’ll provide clear advice to employees and managers, handle queries from internal and external stakeholders, and help maintain an efficient, GDPR‑compliant payroll service. Working collaboratively with the team, you’ll contribute to meeting monthly deadlines, support HR colleagues when needed, and assist in training new staff.

This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service’s flexi-time scheme.
