Mitie Limited is a leading facilities management organisation delivering essential services across the UK. As part of our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and long‑term value creation, we are seeking a highly capable Continuous Improvement Manager to support our Cumbria Consortium CCS framework contract. This role is central to ensuring that our services remain efficient, resilient, and aligned with both client expectations and the regulatory standards of the nuclear environment in which we operate.
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to join our team supporting a major client in West Cumbria. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of the CI lifecycle—driving efficiencies, shaping business cases, and delivering measurable value across a complex and high-profile contract.
This is a standalone role where you'll work closely with operational teams, stakeholders, and clients to uncover opportunities, challenge ways of working, and deliver real, tangible improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
-Leading the end-to-end CI process: idea generation, business case development, client presentation, and delivery.
-Building strong relationships with onsite and offsite teams to identify efficiencies, innovation opportunities, and cost savings.
-Creating high‑quality written business cases that clearly articulate benefits and solutions.
-Tracking, prioritising, and delivering approved CI initiatives.
-Acting as a trusted partner to the client and internal stakeholders.
-Spending time both onsite at Sellafield and in the Whitehaven office (3 days per week), with flexibility for home working.
What you will need:
-Proven track record leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
-Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies in a practical environment.
-Demonstrated success delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, cost, or customer experience.
-Experience facilitating workshops, coaching teams, and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
-Background in operations, manufacturing, logistics, service delivery, or a similar process‑driven environment.
-Experience within nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors.
-Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent advanced CI qualifications
-Project‑management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
