Salary: £39,676 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Contract length: 12 months

Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri 7.30am to 4pm, 12.30pm Friday finish

Location: Donaghadee (North Down WwTW), Newtownards

What you'll be doing:

You will be responsible for assisting and supporting the maintenance manager and maintenance supervisor by completing site maintenance tasks to ensure high plant availability and performance within approved budgets, liaising with operations staff to ensure a high level of service.

  • Utilisation of the asset management systems to complete planned preventative maintenance tasks on a wide variety of automated assets including but not limited to pumps, mixers, screening plants, blowers, and centrifuges.

  • Provide hands-on electrical support including fault-finding and troubleshooting on electrical control systems to minimise downtime.

  • Work closely with our highly skilled team of maintenance and automation engineers to learn and develop your skills.

  • Assist with the management and control of sub contractors in line with company safe systems of work policy and procedures.

  • Take ownership and manage projects from design through to completion.

  • Support the maintenance team with innovative solutions to drive continuous development and implementation of proactive strategic maintenance practices.

  • Review plant downtime to develop strategies and improvements to minimise failures and maximise asset reliability and availability.

  • Participate in a 24/7 standby rota to ensure rapid response capability and continuity of service across critical infrastructure.


What we're looking for:

  • Fully Qualified Electrician: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

  • Apprentice trained Engineer / Technician, qualified to an accredited standard in a relevant Electrical discipline, Instrument, Control & Automation.

  • Understanding, knowledge and experience of maintenance of a variety of plant and apparatus Proven experience and be conversant with power generation, preferably within an Energy from Waste environment.

  • Sound knowledge, experience and understanding of electrical safety rules and statutory inspection regulations.

  • A wealth of practical experience in maintenance within a process industry, preferably

  • A strong, demonstrated interest to expand your knowledge and experience within the wastewater sector.

  • A "can-do" attitude with a genuine desire to learn new technologies.
