Who are we looking for?

As a Commercial Product Manager here at UKG, you will be at the forefront of bringing together the worlds of;

• Special Editions Trade
• UKG Boxed
• Private label 3D programmes

You’ll succeed by applying fantastic end to end project management skills to create innovative design-led products and business growth.

Liaising with teams across the organisation, this role is pivotal in developing and executing growth strategies to maximise revenue including competitive product strategies, price optimisation, commercial models, customer requirements and market trends.

The ideal candidate;

Should be a tenacious, confident self-starter, with an appetite for bringing new product to market.
Strong knowledge across commercial strategy and financial management, including sales, margin, forecasting, and cost control.
Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, coupled with strong communication and analytical abilities.
Manage shifting priorities – multitasking being a vital asset.
Excel at working diligently under strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Excel.
Have a keen creative eye and a passion for products.

Key activities & responsibilities include:

Project Management:

Commercial lead on Special Editions & celebrations, executing all financial pitches & internal P&L management.
Create exciting design led presentations to mirror customer demand drive sales and profitability.
Take ownership of and collation of all commercial functions as well as supplier agreements for new and existing (Special Editions) Customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects seamlessly.
Develop an extensive knowledge of 3D specifications and materials (with some manufacturing/product process knowledge) and utilise this expertise to guide and support customers effectively whilst managing their expectations.

Strategy and Communication:
This role will own commercial leadership and end-to-end business communication and tracking across celebrations, playing a key role as we pivot toward a broader product portfolio.
Collaborate internally to formulate clear objectives and strategies for product development.
Ensure effective communication and the timely implementation of plans within established schedules.
Develop your knowledge base on the company's business strategy, target pricing, load planning, and vendor management.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with existing and new customers to work in partnership in delivering fantastic product, on time.
Performance and Initiatives:
• Develop and manage departmental KPIs, ensuring they align with broader company objectives.
• Actively participate in projects aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Financial monitoring, reporting and management in line with fiscal plan/budget management.

Product Development:
• Continuously monitor marketplace activity, sales trends, and market research to identify opportunities for new customer proposals.
• Collaborate closely with our in-house design team to transform ideas into tangible product concepts.
• Identify complex product development requirements and ensure their effective resolution and integration throughout the supply chain process.
• Working very closely with the Strategic Buyers for costing product specification and briefing Creative teams to meet customer requirements.

Experience in a Commercial/Product Development environment is essential. Knowledge of the greeting card industry is an advantage.

The Company operates in a hybrid working pattern of office-based days and working from home. Head Office is based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

There will be travel involved in this role so a full driving licence is required.
