Summary
Personal Assistant for 6-Year-Old Child (G41 Area)
We are looking for a kind, reliable and patient Personal Assistant to support our 6-year-old son, Alex, who has both physical and learning disabilities. Alex uses a wheelchair. He enjoys watching cartoons, tactile play and going to the park.
About the Role:
You will support Alex at home (G41 area) and occasionally on local outings. Duties include:
• Assisting with personal care, including washing and changing pads
• Helping with feeding and mealtimes
• Providing play and interaction suited to A’s abilities and interests
• Supporting with moving and handling (experience beneficial, but training can be provided)
Hours:
• During term time: 6 hours per week - either 2 hours worked over 3 days per week, or 3 hours worked over 2 days per week (a mix of late afternoon/evenings and weekends)
• During school holidays: 13 hours per week - 4 hours worked over 3 days per week (mainly weekdays, times negotiable)
• Some flexibility would be helpful.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Compassionate, patient and enjoys working with children
• Reliable and confident in providing personal care
• Comfortable supporting physical and learning needs
• Ideally has some experience in moving and handling (training available)
Location: Home-based in the G41 area, with some time spent in the local community for outings.
Rate of pay: £13.60 per hour
